Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic General Practitioner to join our supportive and committed team at Westbourne Medical Centre. Our practice is composed of a close-knit group of healthcare professionals, including GP Partners, a Salaried GP, Nurse Practitioner, Practice Nurse, Healthcare Assistants, and administrative staff. The ideal candidate will be available to work between 2-4 sessions, with a specific need for coverage on Fridays.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing all standard duties associated with a General Practitioner in a primary care setting. This includes:
- Conducting consultations via telephone, in-person, and through e-consultations to effectively address the healthcare needs of our patient population.
- Demonstrating excellent communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
- Participating actively in practice meetings and contributing to decision-making processes and Quality and Outcomes Framework (QOF) activities.
About Our Practice
Westbourne Medical Centre is a small, welcoming practice with a patient list of approximately 5500 individuals. We have established a strong rapport with the local community, which is characterized by high levels of deprivation and a vibrant community spirit. Our practice has received positive feedback in previous inspections and is engaged in collaborative efforts within the local Primary Care Network. Our facilities are purpose-built, offering excellent parking and convenient access to local amenities.
Job Duties
The role encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Performing all duties related to the General Practitioner role as outlined in the General Medical Services (GMS) contract, such as conducting patient consultations, managing telephone inquiries, visiting patients at home, and handling prescriptions and laboratory results.
- Ensuring effective clinical administration, auditing, and management practices.
- Contributing to the practice team in alignment with clinical and prescribing protocols.
- Assisting in the development and enhancement of practice operations and QOF targets.

Qualifications
Essential Requirements:
- MRCGP certification
- Inclusion on the NHS Performer's List
- Unrestricted GMC registration
