Position Overview:
As a Specialist Teaching Assistant focusing on Special Educational Needs (SEN), you will be instrumental in guiding students with autism throughout their academic experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personalized Support: Provide individualized assistance to students, ensuring that their unique learning objectives and needs are met effectively.
  • Classroom Support: Collaborate with the classroom teacher to foster an inclusive atmosphere conducive to learning, which includes aiding in lesson preparation and promoting positive social interactions.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Employ strategies to assist students in managing their behavior, developing coping mechanisms, and encouraging constructive peer interactions.
  • Communication Enhancement: Support the development and execution of communication strategies, utilizing visual aids, social narratives, and other resources to facilitate understanding and expression.
  • Monitoring Progress: Regularly evaluate and document the progress of students, working in conjunction with educators, families, and specialists to modify support plans as necessary.

Qualifications We Seek:
  • Experience: Prior experience in working with children with autism or in a special education environment is essential. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or similar methodologies is advantageous.
  • Educational Background: A relevant qualification in special education, teaching assistance, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Empathy and Understanding: A sincere enthusiasm for supporting children with autism, along with the patience and sensitivity required to address their distinct needs.
  • Effective Communication: Strong verbal and non-verbal communication abilities, enabling effective collaboration with students, educators, and families.
  • Flexibility: Capability to adjust teaching approaches and strategies to accommodate the evolving needs of students.
