Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team at Teaching Vacancies. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing educational support to our students, working closely with classroom teachers to develop and implement effective learning strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized support to students with varying learning needs, including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)
  • Assist classroom teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons, as well as evaluating student progress
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
  • Support the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify and address areas of student need, and develop strategies to support student learning
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and other student support plans
  • Provide administrative support to teachers and other staff members as needed
Requirements
  • Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience working with students with SEND, including autism, ADHD, and other learning difficulties
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • High level of organization and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • NVQ3 or equivalent
  • Externally assessed HLTA status
  • Experience of teaching small groups and supporting children with SEND on a 1:1 basis or within the general classroom environment
  • Knowledge of the Early Years, KS1, and KS2 curriculum
  • Confidence in using ICT and a range of strategies to support children
