Position Overview:
As an Autism Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in aiding students with autism throughout their educational experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Personalized Assistance: Provide individualized support to students, catering to their unique learning objectives and requirements.
  • Classroom Support: Collaborate with the classroom teacher to foster an inclusive atmosphere where every student can excel. This includes assisting with lesson planning, managing classroom dynamics, and encouraging social engagement.
  • Behavioral Guidance: Employ strategies to assist students in managing their behavior, cultivating coping mechanisms, and fostering positive peer interactions.
  • Communication Enhancement: Aid in the creation and execution of communication strategies, utilizing visual aids, social narratives, and other tools to improve understanding and expression.
  • Progress Evaluation: Continuously monitor and report on student progress, working in conjunction with educators, families, and other professionals to modify support plans as necessary.

Qualifications We Seek:
  • Experience: Prior experience with children with autism or in a special education environment is crucial. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or similar methodologies is advantageous.
  • Educational Background: A relevant qualification in special education, teaching assistance, or a related discipline is highly preferred.
  • Empathy and Understanding: A sincere passion for working with children with autism, along with the patience and sensitivity required to meet their unique needs.
  • Communication Proficiency: Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication abilities, capable of effectively interacting with students, educators, and families.
  • Flexibility: Ability to modify teaching techniques and approaches to accommodate the evolving needs of students.
