Position Overview

The Football Association is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee our commercial partnerships.

Revenue generation is vital for The FA's reinvestment into football, and the Head of Commercial Partnerships is crucial in enhancing and sustaining revenue through our Commercial Partnership program.

The FA boasts one of the most extensive partnership portfolios in global sports, collaborating with prestigious brands such as Nike, EE, Emirates, Adobe, M&S, Chase, and many others across various FA properties, including the England Men's, Women's, and Para teams; The Emirates FA Cup and The Adobe Women's FA Cup; Wembley National Stadium and St. George's Park.

Success in this role is achieved through the establishment of top-tier strategic partnerships, maximizing commercial value, fostering exceptional relationships with partners, providing insightful leadership, and cultivating high-performing partnership management teams.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership Management
  • Lead the strategic oversight and execution of The FA's Commercial Partnerships program, ensuring the effective delivery of rights across diverse FA properties while supporting partners' marketing initiatives and campaigns.
  • Proactively oversee and nurture a high-performing Partnerships team to guarantee exemplary management and service to our commercial partners.
  • Drive operational excellence within the Commercial Partnerships program.
  • Negotiate renewal agreements with partners to optimize revenues and commercial value.
  • Manage commercial agreements across FA Competitions and England teams to ensure the fulfillment of commercial rights for the program.
  • Provide strategic insights and recommendations to foster growth within the Commercial Partnerships program.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to commercial partners, offering strategic guidance on rights utilization and marketing initiatives.
  • Enhance and evolve The FA's planning, measurement, reporting, and performance metrics for partnerships.
  • Safeguard and protect FA properties as necessary.
  • Exhibit the ability to influence stakeholders at the highest levels.
  • Develop and sustain exceptional relationships with commercial partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and effective leadership.
  • Onboard new partners as they are secured.
  • Collaborate closely with FA departments to ensure a robust stakeholder network and relationships.
  • Lead planning and evaluations for seasons and tournaments.
Wembley Stadium Events
  • Maximize revenue and enhance commercial value from Wembley Stadium and its events program, collaborating closely with the Wembley Stadium team.
St. George's Park
  • Identify and explore opportunities to enhance commercial value for St George's Park, working in conjunction with the leadership team.
  • Execute additional tasks as necessary to adapt to The FA Group's evolving priorities.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures to maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and well-being.
  • Complete a DBS check as part of The FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for all in football, with the level of the check determined by the specific job role and in accordance with legislation and government guidance.
Qualifications

Essential:
  • Experience in a commercial or marketing environment within the sports sector.
  • Proven experience working with leading brands.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating and finalizing deals, with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on revenue opportunities.
