Key Responsibilities:
Conducting evaluations of Aircraft/System/Sub-System and Support Products/Goods design safety throughout the Product lifecycle, which includes preliminary hazard analysis (PHA), hazard analysis (HA), and system safety assessment reports (SSAR).

Creating, updating, and reviewing SSARs and HA reports, including Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis (ETA), to support certification requirements.

Generating, updating, and reviewing Aircraft Zonal Hazard Analysis Reports (ZHAs) to assist in the certification process or provide inputs to partner organizations.

Maintaining and updating hazard logs for the Platform and Support Products, while producing safety assessments and design justifications.

Reviewing certification evidence for Platform/Support Products (including associated qualification evidence) and generating safety certification arguments/justifications to assert that the design is acceptably safe in support of the certification process.

Ensuring that safety engineering evidence supports the acceptable Safety Certification of the product design, while preparing certification materials for internal, partner company, and customer reviews as necessary.

Conducting risk assessments for emergent issues related to Weapon Platforms and supporting the Typhoon Platform System/Sub-System areas and Support Products in their design responsibilities.

Collaborating with Customers (both internal and external) to agree on delivery timelines.

Assigning tasks to qualified and experienced individuals within the team and may have personnel responsibilities (PDR, career development plans, aspirations, etc.).

Engaging with the Executive population (local department and Product Integrity discipline) to ensure the availability of suitably qualified and experienced individuals within the team.

Required Skills and Experience:

Essential:
HND/HNC/Degree or equivalent in a STEM field, or relevant experience.

Experience in Safety Engineering, critical and analytical thinking, along with strong problem-solving abilities.

High self-motivation and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Desirable:
Knowledge and experience in Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, Systems or Mechanical engineering, and Safety Engineering in a Military Airborne Platform design context.

Familiarity with Safety standards such as the UK Regulatory Framework, Def-Stan 00-55/00-56, Mil-Std-882, DO-178, DO-254, ARP 4754, ARP 4761, EN 61508.

Experience with Safety toolsets such as Fault Tree Analysis +, Reliability Workbench, Goal Structured Notation (GSN).

Ability to engage with Senior technical and engineering leaders within the organization and Senior external and Partner stakeholders.

Capability to lead and influence the technical aspects and acceptability of Product Safety in a through-life context.
