Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant to work with our multidisciplinary team, providing high-quality care to children and adolescents with mental health needs. The successful candidate will have expertise in child and adolescent psychiatry and a strong commitment to delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team, ensuring high-quality care and effective management of patient cases.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development of clinical policies and guidelines, ensuring best practice in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Participate in education and training, sharing expertise with junior staff and contributing to the development of the trust's education program.
- Engage in research and audit, contributing to the advancement of knowledge and practice in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Hold a medical qualification (e.g., MBBS) and a Licence to Practise.
- Have a CCT in Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
- Have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or be able to obtain approval before starting the post.
- Have excellent clinical skills, knowledge, and experience in child and adolescent psychiatry.
- Be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- Additional clinical qualification.
- Experience of medicine outside psychiatry (e.g., general practice, medicine).
- Teaching experience.
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to the post within the NHS or comparable service.
