We are seeking an experienced and skilled Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry to join our team at Weymouth Community Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, leading clinical teams, and contributing to the development of our services.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert clinical leadership and guidance to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits to ensure high standards of patient care.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
- Hold a medical qualification (e.g. MBBS) and be registered with the GMC.
- Have a CCT in Older Adult Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
- Have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or be able to obtain approval before starting post.
- Have excellent clinical skills, knowledge, and experience in Older Adult Psychiatry.
- Be able to provide effective leadership and management to junior medical staff and other healthcare professionals.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
- Experience of medicine outside psychiatry (e.g. general practice, medicine).
- Teaching experience and ability to supervise junior medical staff.
- Wide range of specialist and sub-specialist experience relevant to post within the NHS or comparable service.
