Job Title: Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking an experienced Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled and motivated Consultant to lead our Older Adult Psychiatry service. As a Consultant, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients, leading a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to the development of our service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team
  • Develop and implement clinical policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of our service and participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Supervise and appraise junior medical staff
  • Participate in research and audit projects
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A CCT in Older Adult Psychiatry or equivalent
  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval
  • Excellent clinical skills and knowledge in Older Adult Psychiatry
  • Experience of leading a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
