Job Description for Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry

This is an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Older Adult Psychiatry to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care and treatment plans for older adults with mental health conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver effective care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of mental health services for older adults.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
  • Eligibility for Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
  • Experience in Older Adult Psychiatry, preferably with a CCT or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience in teaching, education, and research.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of clinical governance and quality improvement principles.
