Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Community General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Conduct assessments, diagnoses, and treatment of patients with mental health conditions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care for patients.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Hold a medical qualification (e.g., MBBS, or equivalent) and a Licence to Practise.
  • Have a CCT in Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register in Psychiatry.
  • Have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval or be able to obtain approval before starting the post.
  • Have excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Have experience of carrying out an audit project and experience or involvement in a research project and publication.
Desirable:
  • Have a qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Have experience of medicine outside psychiatry (e.g., general practice, medicine).
  • Have teaching experience.
  • Have previous management experience, including that of other junior medical staff.
