Job Title: Consultant Psychiatrist in Community General Adult Psychiatry

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality clinical care to patients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical leadership to a multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of mental health services.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with complex mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care pathways and effective communication.
  • Participate in clinical governance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high standards of care.
  • Supervise and appraise junior medical staff and contribute to their professional development.
Requirements:
  • Hold a medical qualification (e.g. MBBS) and be registered with the GMC.
  • Have a CCT in Psychiatry or be on the Specialist Register.
  • Have Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician approval.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Have experience of working in a multidisciplinary team and contributing to clinical governance.
Desirable:
  • Have a higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management.
  • Have experience of teaching and training junior medical staff.
  • Have experience of leading clinical teams and contributing to service development.
