Lead Cost Manager

Octavius Infrastructure is a prominent civil engineering firm dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and efficient transportation solutions throughout the UK.
We are seeking a seasoned Lead Cost Manager to join our dynamic team, overseeing the financial management of various projects within the Wales & Western Stations and Buildings Work Contract for Control Period 7 (CP7). This framework includes the maintenance and renewal of canopies, buildings, depots, platform structures, car parks, and subways. You will be responsible for ensuring the financial and contractual success of projects, guaranteeing that outcomes align with contractual obligations and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage project financial performance, ensuring that profit targets and efficiency savings are met.
- Oversee change control processes and ensure adherence to contractual timelines.
- Effectively identify and manage risks and opportunities.
- Facilitate compliant procurement processes and manage the supply chain effectively.
- Address commercial inquiries and provide guidance on legal matters, including disputes.
- Conduct internal and external audits as necessary.
- Supervise subcontract management, including the preparation and negotiation of claims and payments.
- Monitor project progress, conduct site inspections, and maintain financial records and forecasts.
- Prepare for and participate in monthly cost review meetings, identifying variations and necessary actions.
- Ensure compliance with Octavius' and clients' assurance processes and legal requirements.
- Mentor and manage team members.
- Foster strong relationships with project teams, clients, and suppliers, promoting a culture of professionalism and collaboration.

Qualifications:- Proven success in a Lead Cost Management role on multiple large-scale projects.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching, mentoring, and managing personnel.
- Experience within a civil engineering context.
- Familiarity with NEC Contracts.
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Professional membership with RICS or CICES is desirable.
