Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proficient Senior Cardiac Physiologist to enhance our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, providing exceptional care in both Cardiac Cath Lab and pacing environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a comprehensive array of clinical-technical procedures and interventions within the cardiology domain, ensuring a high standard of professional practice.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills in Cath Lab and Pacing to effectively manage pacing clinics.
  • Support the Lead Cardiac Physiologist in delivering routine Cardiac Physiology services as required.
  • Oversee complex pacing clinics, including home monitoring, and perform various cath lab procedures.
  • Contribute significantly to the training and ongoing professional development of both staff and students.

Clinical Duties

  • Deliver specialized expertise in the Cardiac Cath Lab and physiologist-led pacemaker/device follow-up clinics, serving as a vital resource within the technical cardiology service.
  • Perform a variety of standard and complex investigations as requested by clinicians, including device clinics and catheterizations.
  • Analyze intricate information, applying scientific knowledge and personal judgment to determine the best course of action.
  • Employ advanced skills to optimize the performance of pacemakers and internal defibrillators, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Be prepared to manage any outcomes during or post-procedures, including emergency situations.
  • Assist in urgent procedures, such as acute PCI transfers.
  • Act as a specialist in the field, providing professional advice as necessary.
  • Demonstrate a keen interest in performing Tilt tests, aiming for proficiency in these assessments.
  • Supervise stress tests and be equipped to handle any outcomes that may arise.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent)
  • Advanced clinical postgraduate qualification (e.g., BHRS, IBHRE)
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • RCCP registration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of specialist experience in Cath Lab/Pacing
Desirable:
  • Progressing towards specialist practitioner accreditation in cardiac physiology with a focus on physiologist-led syncope pathways
