Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proficient senior cardiac physiologist to enhance our team at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work across multiple sites, ensuring the delivery of exceptional cardiac care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct a wide array of clinical-technical investigations and interventions in the cardiology sector, maintaining a high level of professional competence.
  • Utilize specialized knowledge and skills in Cath Lab and Pacing to oversee the management of pacing clinics.
  • Support the Lead Cardiac Physiologist in various Cardiac Services, providing routine clinical-technical services as required.
  • Manage complex pacing clinics, including home monitoring, and perform a variety of cath lab procedures.
  • Play a significant role in the training and professional development of both staff and students.

Clinical Duties

  • Deliver specialized professional expertise in the Cardiac Cath Lab and physiologist-led pacemaker/device follow-up clinics, serving as a resource within the technical cardiology service.
  • Perform both standard and complex investigations as directed by clinicians, including device clinics and catheterizations.
  • Analyze intricate information, utilizing scientific knowledge and discretion to make informed decisions.
  • Optimize the performance of pacemakers and internal defibrillators to meet individual patient needs while ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Be prepared to manage any outcomes during or post-procedures, including emergency situations.
  • Assist in urgent procedures, including acute transfers to the cath lab.
  • Act as a specialist, providing professional advice as necessary.
  • Develop proficiency in performing Tilt tests.
  • Supervise stress tests and manage any outcomes that may arise.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:

  • BSc in Clinical Physiology (or equivalent)
  • Advanced clinical postgraduate qualification such as BHRS, IBHRE, or equivalent
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development
  • RCCP registration or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of specialist experience in Cath Lab/Pacing
Desirable:
  • Progress towards specialist practitioner accreditation in cardiac physiology with an interest in physiologist-led syncope pathways
