About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Quality Manager to join our team at Whitworths Ltd. As a Quality Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our food manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Compliance with Regulatory Requirements: Develop and implement systems to ensure compliance with relevant food safety and quality regulations, including HACCP and allergen management.
  • Lead Quality Improvement Initiatives: Identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance quality and efficiency in our manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with production, quality, and technical teams to ensure seamless execution of quality-related activities.
  • Investigate and Resolve Quality Issues: Conduct thorough investigations to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and Maintain Quality Systems: Create and maintain quality procedures, work instructions, and training programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Monitor and Analyze Quality Metrics: Track and analyze quality metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Provide Technical Support and Training: Provide technical support and training to production and quality teams to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Deputize for Factory Technical Manager: Assume responsibility for the factory technical manager's duties in their absence, ensuring continuity of quality-related activities.
Requirements
  • Relevant Industry Experience: Proven experience in a quality management role in the food manufacturing industry, with a strong understanding of food safety and quality regulations.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, and technical teams.
  • Strong Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze quality data and identify areas for improvement, and implement changes to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Leadership and Coaching Skills: Ability to lead and motivate teams, and provide coaching and training to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their roles effectively.
  • Knowledge of HACCP and Allergen Management: Strong understanding of HACCP and allergen management principles and practices.
