Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Transport Operations Manager to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and effective management of our fleet of vehicles, ensuring that all transportation operations are carried out in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of a fleet of vehicles: Ensure that all vehicles are properly maintained, and that regular vehicle inspections are carried out.
- Work with the company to establish further depots: Assist in the planning and implementation of new depot locations, ensuring that all necessary logistics and transportation arrangements are in place.
- Ensure compliance with transportation legislation: Stay up to date with new and revised transportation legislation and advise the directors on any actions needed to ensure compliance.
- Monitor and report on transportation costs: Analyze and report on transportation costs, identifying areas for cost savings and implementing initiatives to reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records: Ensure that all records related to transportation operations are accurate and up to date.
- Act as the company point of contact for queries from the Traffic Commissioner: Respond to queries and requests from the Traffic Commissioner, ensuring that all necessary information is provided in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Transport Operations Manager: A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of transportation operations and logistics.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, and to analyze data and make informed decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills: Ability to work effectively with colleagues, drivers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work logically and systematically: Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
