Transport Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Transport Team Manager to join our team at Booker Group. As a key member of our Transport Team, you will play a crucial role in the efficient and cost-effective management of our transport operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage all transport operations on a daily, period, and annual basis, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.
- Oversee vehicle breakdowns, minimizing the impact on customers and ensuring prompt resolution.
- Analyze Tacho-graph infringement reports, addressing any issues with drivers and ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Ensure legal compliance with all transport legislation, particularly Driver's hours, and maintain accurate records.
- Manage the maintenance of our fleet, ensuring vehicles are available for servicing, MOTs, and defect management.
- Develop and implement processes to improve operational efficiency, working closely with internal teams to ensure seamless integration.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, ensuring timely updates on late departures and promoting a culture of excellence.
- Conduct regular driver debriefs, providing feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Collaborate with the operations team to develop and achieve operational goals, KPIs, and process improvements.
- Previous experience in transport within the FMCG distribution industry, with a strong understanding of complex, fast-paced operations.
- Supervisory or management experience in a similar environment, with a proven track record of driving excellence and promoting high standards.
- Excellent organizational skills, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively manage drivers and teams.
- Knowledge of driving compliance and associated regulations, with a CPC qualification advantageous but not essential.
- A good understanding of Employment Law and ACAS Code of Practice.
