Our client, Service Six, are an award-winning charity committed to changing lives and creating futures for disadvantaged children, young people and their families, by providing mental health and wellbeing help & support. Established in 1979, Service Six has helped thousands of individuals access the vital support they need across Milton Keynes, Northamptonshire, Leicestershire and Lincolnshire.

The role:

In this role, you will be responsible for managing Service Six non-therapeutic operations, services and associated

personnel; stakeholder relationships; child protection and safeguarding. To deputise for the Chief Executive.

Key duties and responsibilities:

Strategic Management

  • Oversee organisational activities of Service Six.
  • Strategize process improvement to ensure tasks are completed on schedule.
  • Maintain and increasing the efficiency of Service Six.
  • Respond to current issues ensuring the organisation is presented and communicates its messages in an appropriate
  • Grow the efficiency of existing organizational processes and procedures to enhance and sustain the organization's internal capacity.
  • Deputising in the absence of the Chief Executive.

People Management

  • Lead, motivate, and support a diverse team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including setup and implementation of career development plans for all direct reports
  • Build and maintain a professional and motivated team with clearly defined roles, responsibilities and objectives within the framework provided by strategic and business plans.
  • Ensure that all staff directly managed are provided with appropriate systems, effective delegation, supervision, training, and guidance to enable them to fulfill their role.
  • Promote a commitment to high standards of service and to equality of opportunity through leadership, policy development and good practice.
  • Ensure services are managed and operated in an effective and efficient way, in relation to the organisation's values, agreed standards, contractual obligations and regulatory requirements to meet objectives and financial targets as agreed with the Chief Executive.
  • Undertake HR and performance management processes with direct reports as required
  • Implement all HR policies and procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose and applied consistently within the organization.

Child Protection & Safeguarding

  • Ensure that all staff receive the appropriate training and direction to implement the organisations Safeguarding Policy in respect of Children and Young People and Vulnerable Adults in line with the statutory requirements, procedural and professional practice.
  • Review and update Service Six policy and procedures.
  • Liaise with the Chief Executive to manage any complaints about agency safeguarding actions.
  • Collate, monitor and audit all safeguarding data within a database and report as required and evaluate the effectiveness of safeguarding within Service Six and action recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Undertake urgent action to remedy individual personnel practice or department trends identified as non-compliance with safeguarding policy and procedures.
  • Identify internal and external risks to Service Six's safeguarding framework and remedy or mitigate as required.

Service Delivery

  • Ensure the highest level of service delivery throughout the organisation and that processes for continual monitoring and raising standards are in place and used effectively to meet our charitable objectives.
  • Manage working patterns and rotas to ensure scheduled service delivery is completed successfully and timely.
  • Undertake and manage a range of quality assurance processes to monitor and evaluate service delivery and report as directed.
  • Manage budgets as directed.
  • Liaise with agency departments to ensure appropriate collection and collation of service delivery outcomes and the voice of the child or other users is captured, recorded and reported.

Partnership Working

  • Network as widely as possible (locally, regionally and nationally) to be at the forefront of ideas and innovative services.
  • Maintain and develop strategic alliances with a wide range of key partners including Police, Councils, Health, District and Borough Authorities, locality based resident groups and Community Safety Partnerships, schools, colleges and universities amongst others.
  • Participate in a range of external cross sector meetings, events and forums.

Reporting

  • Report to the Chief Executive, Commissioners, Board and associated Committees as directed.
  • Provide and interpret reports in a range of formats as appropriate to the recipients, to include electronic, verbal presentations and written reports.
