Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified clinical psychologist to become a vital member of our Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Interventions Team. This role is available at either band 7 or band 8a levels, depending on the candidate's qualifications and experience.
This position is part of the Interventions Team within the Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Care Group. You will collaborate with a dedicated group of psychological therapists and be integrated into a multidisciplinary team that prioritizes psychological principles and practices.
We are open to hiring a psychologist who possesses the necessary skills and experience for an 8a role, or a candidate who qualifies for a band 7 position. For those at the band 7 level, we offer a structured development plan designed to enhance your skills and competencies, facilitating your advancement to the 8a role within a reasonable timeframe.
Our service has experienced significant growth and transformation in recent years. We are dedicated to fostering compassionate and supportive relationships with young individuals, their families, and their communities, ensuring that appropriate interventions are delivered effectively and timely.
As a team, we are committed to promoting a healthy work-life balance, nurturing a culture of continuous learning, and providing opportunities for professional development through training and practical experience.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will encompass providing specialized psychological interventions to young individuals and their families. Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating care for complex cases involving young individuals and their support systems.
- Supervising and managing other team members.
- Consulting on service development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will possess advanced skills in engaging with children and young people facing significant challenges and will demonstrate flexibility and creativity in ensuring that all aspects of the service are informed by psychological principles.
This is a permanent position with flexible working hours. Part-time arrangements may be considered. The service operates under a hybrid model, combining in-person and virtual work.
Proficiency in Welsh is desirable for this role; applications are welcome from both Welsh and English speakers.
