At Serco, we are looking for a SAP Technical Solutions Analyst to provide guidance and support for the technical aspects of ERP initiatives and manage critical (P1/P2) incidents. This position will focus on the ERP strategy, primarily for SAP, along with other non-SAP systems. The analyst will also work towards minimizing technical liabilities, validate solutions prior to implementation, and ensure stability across our systems. The SAP Technical Solutions Analyst will assist in defining integration design patterns and advise the organization on constructing our ERP (SAP) framework.

In this pivotal role, you will join a dedicated team of technical specialists to ensure we remain current with application updates, security patches, CE+, and cyber threats, while advising our ERP leadership on any technical risks related to our delivery strategies. You will collaborate with the Head of ERP Technical Delivery to manage our extensive and intricate ERP landscape and play a crucial role in the future transition to new ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance and Engagement


• Assist in the development and execution of a comprehensive governance framework for the broader function, overseeing the technical components as necessary.


• Ensure the smooth operation of essential stakeholder engagement platforms.


• Support business efforts to adopt optimal solutions, including innovative platform integration.

Architecture and Design


• This role will report to the Head of ERP Delivery and aid in defining and documenting the technical architecture and strategy.


• Ensure the quality of essential technical documentation.


• Maintain comprehensive technical design patterns.


• Manage critical control artifacts and strategies for servers, integrations, and developments.

Budget, Finance, and Recharge


• Participate in managing the accuracy and currency of technical debt/spending forecasts.

Contracts and Commercials


• Assist in optimizing supplier licenses.

Business as Usual (BAU)


• Contribute to the delivery of high-quality BAU services, with exceptional involvement in issues.


• Aid in patch management, audits, and the handling of high-severity incidents.

Service Improvement Plan (SIP)


• Engage in effective problem management, responsible for resolving technical challenges.


• Contribute to delivering functional solutions, incidents, and service enhancements through strategic partners.

Project Management


• Play a role in ensuring effective program and project delivery, including the technical components of individual programs and projects.

Delivery


• Take responsibility for the quality of design outputs.


• Support the management and resolution of incidents, service requests, problems, and project issues, ensuring resolution by team members and third parties as necessary or appropriate based on expertise and knowledge.


• Assist the Head of ERP Technical Delivery in coordinating between Infrastructure and Security teams, maintaining proactive and controlled management of all system patching activities at all levels (OS, DB, Application).

Required Qualifications:

Proven experience with SAP technical platforms, gained through several years of developing and supporting organizations in their SAP architecture approach and delivery, along with broad SAP functional awareness. Understanding of industry standards, latest products, and best practices. Experience in transformational programs utilizing SAP is advantageous. Familiarity with both non-SAP and SAP partner products to deliver solutions. Experience collaborating with offshore/outsourced system integrators for both Business as Usual and Project Delivery is a plus. Strong communication skills and stakeholder engagement experience are essential for explaining risks, issues, and solutions to non-technical teams.
