Big Red Recruitment Midlands Limited is a key player in the UK's Gas Sector, overseeing data management and delivering essential services to gas shippers, suppliers, and transporters.

The organization operates within a sophisticated technological environment, featuring a highly customized SAP system, various bespoke and proprietary applications, alongside a cloud-based big data solution hosted on Microsoft Azure, all integrated to fulfill diverse customer requirements.

They are embarking on a strategic initiative to enhance their SAP infrastructure by 2027, presenting a remarkable opportunity for the right candidate to elevate their technological framework through a comprehensive architectural strategy.

As a Senior Oracle Solutions Architect, you will evaluate, comprehend, and analyze the existing architectural landscape and spearhead the design and execution of the future technology framework.

This position is vital in synchronizing their IT strategy with organizational objectives, ensuring that their systems are resilient, scalable, and prepared for future challenges.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in SAP, cloud technologies, and enterprise architecture methodologies. You will play a crucial role in facilitating the SAP system upgrade and integrating various bespoke and proprietary solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Architecture Design and Implementation: Lead the architectural design of the SAP upgrade initiative.
  • Technology Strategy and Planning: Formulate and execute a technology strategy that aligns with business goals, regulatory standards, and industry frameworks.
  • Project Leadership: Oversee the technical components of the SAP upgrade, encompassing planning, design, implementation, and post-implementation support.
  • Collaborate with business executives, IT teams, and external partners to ensure technology projects align with business requirements.
  • Establish and uphold architectural governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, security protocols, and regulatory obligations.

Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership capacity.
Proven experience with SAP, including customization and upgrade initiatives.
Familiarity with cloud technologies, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Experience in large, data-driven enterprise environments.
Strong understanding of SAP modules and functionalities.
Expertise in cloud computing, big data solutions, and data integration.
Proficiency in architectural design tools and software.
Excellent leadership and project management capabilities.
Professional certifications in SAP, Azure, and enterprise architecture (e.g., TOGAF Certified, SAP Certified Technology Associate, Microsoft Certified).
Experience in the energy sector, specifically related to gas market data and operations.
Knowledge of Agile and DevOps methodologies.
