Senior Vice President of Global Marketing - S&P Global Commodity Insights

Position Overview:

We are in search of an innovative Marketing executive who excels at integrating diverse perspectives to create a compelling value proposition and comprehensive market strategy. This role, reporting to the Chief Experience Officer (CXO), will lead and inspire a team of marketing professionals who work collaboratively across commercial, product, and technology sectors, establishing themselves as essential strategic allies to the organization.

The successful candidate will possess a unique combination of strategic foresight, creative marketing techniques, and a focus on customer engagement to drive business growth and enhance market visibility. This position demands a leader adept at navigating competitive markets, utilizing S&P Global's extensive ecosystem for cohesive marketing initiatives, and motivating a team to achieve outstanding results. To succeed, this team will implement strategies that position S&P Global Commodity Insights as the preferred partner for market data and insights, enhancing our reputation for distinctive capabilities, benchmarks, and expertise while strengthening relationships with key clients.

As a key member of the CX leadership team, this role will influence and oversee customer journeys from initial engagement to onboarding and renewal. Collaborating closely with sales, client services, product, and technology teams, the position will leverage events and digital interactions to gather insights and guide customers through critical decision-making moments.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead a motivated and effective Marketing team, fostering a culture that aligns with S&P's mission and values.
  • Oversee a global team of marketing specialists operating at both strategic and operational levels to create quality leads, enhance brand awareness, build trust, and strengthen client relationships.
  • Collaborate on go-to-market strategies and product launches aimed at expanding business in established and emerging markets, ensuring alignment with the company's broader business goals.
  • Translate the overarching product strategy into a clear value proposition, highlighting the unique benefits of Commodity Insights' offerings across various product categories and customer segments.
  • Work in tandem with product management, consulting, and event teams to synchronize marketing strategies with the evolving capabilities landscape, ensuring a unified narrative that resonates with target audiences.
  • Partner with sales and commercial leaders to activate global demand generation and account-based marketing strategies, executing digital, account-focused, field marketing initiatives, and events to drive leads and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with customer experience and client service leaders to devise and implement retention and reactivation strategies, enhancing cross-selling and up-selling efforts to maximize customer lifetime value.
  • Position Commodity Insights as thought leaders in key sectors through curated content, events, and social media initiatives.
  • Develop co-marketing strategies with channel and cloud partners to enhance reach and growth in priority markets and segments.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and lead innovation in digital marketing strategies, utilizing advanced technologies to boost operational efficiency and impact.
  • Align and execute targeted marketing plans, closely monitoring the effectiveness of strategies, localization, performance, and return on marketing investment.
  • Act as an advocate for customers, understanding their needs and driving necessary changes to ensure our brand remains relevant and trusted among our target audience globally.
  • Gather and activate client insights from surveys and market research, continuously enhancing our customer experience and marketing engagement.
  • Manage the full spectrum of marketing operations, including automation, lead management, campaign orchestration, data analytics, and reporting.
  • Establish a framework for prioritizing, allocating resources, and managing capacity for marketing initiatives across the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in B2B marketing management and leadership, including overseeing large, diverse teams across various cultures and influencing stakeholders.
  • Expertise in brand management, including global reputation management and share of voice.
  • Experience in customer marketing, including advocacy and referral initiatives.
  • Proficiency in website architecture and inbound customer acquisition strategies.
  • Expertise in marketing technology, automation, and customer data platforms, with integration experience with CRMs and event technologies.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans that drive sales growth.
  • Capacity to thrive in a dynamic and ambiguous environment, collaborating across functions in a rapidly evolving organization.
  • Exceptional messaging and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft engaging narratives for diverse audiences.
