We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Fox's Burton's Companies. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for championing safety, health, and environmental management across our sites in Edinburgh, Livingston, and Arran.

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing effective safety and environmental management systems, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and promoting a positive safety culture among our employees.

You will work closely with our senior functional leaders to develop and maintain our safety standards, conduct regular audits and plant inspections, and ensure that our sites are equipped with the necessary resources to maintain a safe working environment.

We are looking for a candidate with extensive knowledge of health and safety law, proven track record of implementation and maintenance of these processes, and expert knowledge of best practice and industry standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining our safety standards across site
  • Conducting regular audits and plant inspections
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations
  • Implementing and monitoring site health and safety policies and procedures

  • Previous experience in a management or head of SHE role within food manufacturing
  • Extensive knowledge of health and safety law and proven track record of implementation and maintenance of these processes
  • Expert knowledge of best practice and industry standards
  • Good knowledge of environmental and sustainability practices
  • Understanding of local government departments and ability to engage with key stakeholders
  • NEBOSH and health and safety qualifications
  • Agile thinking and behaviors
  • Flexibility to attend SHE meetings in Edinburgh, Livingston, and Arran
  • Previous people management experience, including individual development
