About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Fox's Burton's Companies. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for championing safety, health, and environmental management across our sites in Edinburgh, Livingston, and Arran.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our safety standards across sites and collaborate with group functions to ensure compliance.
- Conduct regular audits and plant inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure a safe working environment.
- Manage and allocate budgets for health and safety initiatives and ensure effective implementation.
- Act as the business expert in Scotland on all health and safety matters, ensuring compliance with regulations and industry standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with local government departments and enforcement bodies to ensure a positive working relationship.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a management or head of SHE role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Extensive knowledge of health and safety law and regulations, with a proven track record of implementation and maintenance.
- Expert knowledge of best practices and industry standards, with the ability to implement and maintain these across our sites.
- Good understanding of environmental and sustainability practices, with the ability to adopt and implement these.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- NEBOSH and health and safety qualifications.
- Agile thinking and behaviors, with the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
