Brandon James Ltd is seeking an experienced Principal Designer to join their innovative and growing team. As a leading construction consultancy in the industry, we are dedicated to delivering exceptional projects across various sectors while integrating health and safety at every stage of the design process.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the delivery of Principal Designer duties in line with CDM 2015 regulations, ensuring compliance and best practices in health and safety.
- Provide expert advice on design risk management and health and safety to clients and project teams, promoting a culture of safety and responsibility.
- Prepare and review pre-construction information and construction phase plans, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Conduct detailed design risk assessments and implement hazard elimination strategies, ensuring the safety of clients, employees, and the general public.
- Work closely with clients, architects, and contractors to ensure CDM compliance throughout the project lifecycle, fostering strong relationships and open communication.
- Mentor and support junior team members, promoting knowledge sharing and professional development.
- Degree in a construction-related field, such as architecture, engineering, or construction management.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification, demonstrating expertise in health and safety practices.
- Chartered Membership of a relevant professional body, such as RICS, CIOB, or APS, showcasing commitment to professional development.
- Proven experience as a Principal Designer in the construction industry, with a strong track record of delivering projects safely and efficiently.
- Comprehensive understanding of CDM 2015 regulations and health and safety practices, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a practical setting.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
