ROLE OVERVIEW:
The Legal Support Specialist will deliver essential legal assistance and support as needed, collaborating closely with the internal collections team and external legal representatives, as well as the broader team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organizing and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure efficient workflow
- Drafting and typing various legal documents from dictation or written instructions
- Communicating with clients and other stakeholders both in person and via telephone
- Managing the supervisor's calendar and coordinating appointments
- Taking precise messages and ensuring they are conveyed appropriately
Preparing refreshments for client meetings and ensuring the area is tidy afterwards.
Assisting with financial transactions and managing disbursements
Helping legal professionals in creating and updating standard letters and documents
Acting as a witness for document signings when required
Following the supervisor's instructions and advice accurately
Becoming familiar with and adhering to the firm's operational procedures as outlined in the employee handbook.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
- Previous experience in a legal environment, preferably with knowledge of conveyancing
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting
- Proficient in managing and prioritizing workload
- Familiarity with MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
