We are seeking a highly organized and driven individual to join our team as a Legal Assistant. As a key member of our administrative team, you will provide critical support to our lawyers and play a vital role in the day-to-day operations of our law firm.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and prioritize tasks to ensure a prompt start to the day
- Prepare and type various documents from audio or copy typing as required
- Liaise with clients and other parties in person and over the phone
- Manage the line manager's diary and communicate appointments
- Take accurate messages and relay them appropriately
- Provide cover and support to other departments as needed
- Prepare refreshments for meetings and clear away afterwards
- Assist with financial transactions and handle disbursements
- Support fee earners in creating and updating precedent letters and documents
- Act as a witness on document signatures when needed
- Follow instructions and advice from the line manager accurately
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to the firm's procedures as outlined in the handbook
- Previous experience working within a legal firm, ideally with an understanding of conveyancing
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Able to manage and prioritize workload
- Good working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Windows software
