Position Overview

An excellent opportunity has emerged for a skilled and motivated physiotherapist to join the Short Term Support Service Team. This role is designed for individuals with strong communication abilities and effective caseload management skills, aiming to enhance patient independence across various conditions.

The primary objective of this position is to facilitate patients in achieving autonomy within their living environments through specialized physiotherapy assessments and interventions. The team consists of registered Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Technical Instructors, and Occupational Therapy Assistants.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will exhibit flexibility in their approach to the responsibilities of this role. We employ an integrated therapeutic strategy for client intervention and seek individuals with diverse experience in musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions, falls, neurological disorders, and elderly care with multiple co-morbidities.

The main responsibilities of this position include:

  • Assessing and prioritizing new referrals received by the service.
  • Managing a diverse caseload of patients effectively, considering clinical priorities and time management.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients, including those with complex or varied presentations, utilizing clinical reasoning skills.
  • Supporting patients through personalized goal setting, education, and care plans to help them achieve their potential in a goal-oriented manner, collaborating with patients, families, reablement staff, and external agencies.
  • Completing all necessary training and committing to ongoing professional development.
  • Providing leadership, supervision, support, and training to Technical Instructors and students.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc Hons Degree in Physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • HCPC Registration.
  • Qualification as a student clinical educator with experience in supervising students or willingness to undertake training within 18 months of starting.
  • Postgraduate training relevant to the specialist area.
  • Extensive relevant postgraduate training in the specialist field.
  • Recognized training qualification and experience in supervising undergraduate students.

Desirable

  • Membership in the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • Documented evidence of continuing professional development.
