Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. As a Specialist Physiotherapist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized physiotherapy services to patients with complex needs, including those with learning disabilities and neurological conditions.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assess and manage patients with complex physiotherapy needs, using evidence-based practice and clinical reasoning.
  • Develop and implement individualized rehabilitation programs, taking into account the patient's specific needs and goals.
  • Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff, ensuring high-quality care and promoting a culture of excellence.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care and effective communication.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in physiotherapy, applying this knowledge to improve patient outcomes.

Requirements
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Recognized Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Further relevant post-qualifying training and experience in complex physiotherapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to present information clearly and logically, both written and orally.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Evidence of post-qualification training and experience in learning disability and neurological physiotherapy.
  • Knowledge of clinical audit processes and outcomes.
  • Experience of working with people with complex communication needs.
  • Ability to develop and provide client-centered, goal-oriented rehabilitation programs.
