About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Physiotherapist to join our team at Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialist assessment and management of complex physiotherapy needs, working with a diverse range of service users with varying presentations and mental health, learning disabilities, and neurological conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized care plans to maximize independence and promote recovery.
  • Provide evidence-based physiotherapy interventions, including assessment and treatment techniques, clinical reasoning, and outcome measures.
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team to ensure high-quality, individualized care is delivered.
  • Develop and provide client-centered, goal-oriented, and graded rehabilitation programs and interventions.
  • Communicate effectively with service users, families, and healthcare professionals, considering strategies to support those with complex communication needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices, research, and clinical guidelines to ensure delivery of high-quality care.
Requirements
  • State registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Recognized physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
  • Further relevant post-qualifying training.
  • Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience in learning disability and/or neurological physiotherapy.
  • Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC, and CSP standards.
  • Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and providing physiotherapy services.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Clinical leadership and induction of staff.
  • Experience of communication with people who have communication difficulties.
  • Evidence of post-qualification training.
  • Knowledge of outcome measures relevant to this client group.
