Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Ocean Department in Scotland, handling both imports and exports of FCL and LCL freight movements. The ideal candidate will have a background in global freight and logistics, with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with internal and external customer queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Liaising effectively between various departments and stakeholders.
  • Preparing export documentation for packages and ensuring compliance with customs regulations.
  • Liaising with customs authorities to resolve outstanding issues and ensure smooth clearance of shipments.
  • Investigating and reporting on customer queries and issues to assist with resolution.
  • Meeting set targets and performing additional tasks as required.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Ocean import and export experience, including LCL, FCL, and cross-trade.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of import and export documentation, including customs clearance procedures.
  • Ability to liaise directly with customers, trucking partners, and overseas offices.
  • Arranging bookings for FCL and LCL shipments and handling customs clearance.
  • Organizing deliveries and scanning relevant paperwork.
  • Rating files from quotations and following procedures.
  • Meeting department KPIs and contributing to the team's success.
  • Essential customer service experience to build relationships with key customers.
  • Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF), Power of Attorney (POA), and Letter of Credit (LC).
