Position: Culinary Operations Supervisor

Location: Central Bedfordshire College

Role Overview:

We are in search of a Culinary Operations Supervisor to become a part of The Bedford College Group at Central Bedfordshire College.

As a Culinary Operations Supervisor, you will oversee the daily activities of the kitchen staff and support the Catering Manager in the administration and supervision of the complete food production for the Bedford College Services Ltd outlet, ensuring that we meet and surpass the standards set by Bedford College Services.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidates will possess:

  • Level 2 Kitchen, Larder, or Vocational experience (minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role).
  • Hygiene Certification at Level 2.
  • Proficiency in English and Mathematics or equivalent at GCSE grade A-C, or a commitment to achieve Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience in mentoring team members in food preparation and a strong understanding of menu design.
  • Knowledge of food cost management and high-quality food production.
  • Experience in planning, managing, and delivering projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Demonstrated ability to promote equality and diversity in the workplace.
  • Creativity and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
  • A proven history of effective team leadership and performance management to meet objectives.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development.
