Position: Culinary Operations Manager

Location: Central Bedfordshire College

Role Overview:

We are in search of a Culinary Operations Manager to become a part of The Bedford College Group at Central Bedfordshire College.

As a Culinary Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of the kitchen team and support the Catering Manager in supervising and managing the overall food production for the college's catering services, striving to meet and surpass the standards set by Bedford College Services.

Candidate Profile:

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Level 2 Kitchen, Larder, or relevant vocational experience (minimum of 3 years in a supervisory role).
  • Hygiene Certification at Level 2.
  • Proficiency in English and Mathematics or equivalent at GCSE grade A-C, or a commitment to achieve Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience in training team members in food preparation and a strong understanding of menu design.
  • Knowledge of food cost management and high-quality food production.
  • Experience in planning, managing, and delivering projects within budget and on schedule.
  • Evidence of promoting equality and diversity in the workplace.
  • Creativity and the ability to generate innovative ideas.
  • A proven history of effective team leadership and performance management to meet objectives.
  • A commitment to continuous skill and knowledge enhancement.
