About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chef Manager to join our team at the Bedford College Group. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise a team of chefs and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional food production and presentation.
  • Develop and implement menus that meet the needs of our customers and align with our business objectives.
  • Monitor and control food costs, inventory, and waste management to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality control procedures.
  • Collaborate with our catering team to plan and deliver events, functions, and catering services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure the highest quality ingredients and services.
  • Contribute to the development of our culinary team, providing training, coaching, and mentoring to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in a senior culinary role, with a strong track record of leadership and team management.
  • Excellent culinary skills, with a deep understanding of menu development, food costing, and kitchen operations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of flexibility and adaptability.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and quality control procedures.
