Summary

Everest People Solutions is seeking a Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor to oversee a prominent food production facility. This position involves leading the Technical Team and participating in the Senior Management Team to ensure compliance with customer expectations, certification requirements, and legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities for the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor

  • Overseeing and maintaining the Food Safety and Quality Management Systems throughout the facility.
  • Supporting all departments in achieving customer satisfaction, certification compliance, and legal standards.
  • Delivering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and ensuring adherence to site regulations for the Senior Management Team and Group as required.
  • Engaging with regulatory authorities, including the Food Standards Agency (FSA), to facilitate seamless operations.
  • Enhancing customer relationships and managing inquiries, requests, and complaints with diligence.
  • Conducting root cause analyses and implementing effective corrective and preventive measures for any non-conformities identified by customers, regulatory agencies, or internal audits.
  • Developing and refining organizational policies, systems, and procedures to meet customer needs, certification standards, legal requirements, corporate objectives, and industry benchmarks.
  • Regularly evaluating and reporting on cost-effectiveness while identifying cost-saving opportunities within the Technical, Hygiene, and Stores departments, ensuring product safety and compliance are not compromised.
  • Ensuring staff receive relevant training, including refresher courses, tailored to their roles and responsibilities in Technical, Hygiene, Stores, and Animal Welfare areas.

Qualifications for the Quality Assurance and Food Safety Supervisor

  • Previous experience in Technical Management is advantageous.
  • Experience in a Technical capacity, particularly within the meat industry, is essential.
  • A degree in a scientific discipline or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • The ideal candidate will exhibit a results-oriented mindset and strong leadership skills.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and effective workload planning to meet deadlines are required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are crucial.
