Position: Volunteer Video Producer

Role Type: Unpaid Volunteer

Location: Remote

The Blockchain & Climate Institute is seeking a talented and imaginative Volunteer Video Producer who is enthusiastic about contributing to the climate action movement through engaging visual storytelling. This role is integral to advancing our communications strategy by producing compelling video content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing the communications strategy of the Blockchain & Climate Institute;
  • Enhance the visibility of our initiatives among stakeholders in the climate change discourse;
  • Develop video narratives that align with our storytelling objectives for various outreach efforts, including public relations, social media, and newsletters;
  • Create dynamic motion graphics and animated videos based on collaborative discussions and provided scripts;
  • Draft illustrative sketches for team approval;
  • Produce captivating and brand-consistent audio-visual materials (e.g., video explainers, interview segments) across multiple platforms;
  • Support both internal and external events, including significant industry gatherings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong creative abilities with a solid understanding of narrative construction;
  • Familiarity with various communication channels, including media and social platforms;
  • Demonstrated adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic environment;
  • Meticulous attention to detail;
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

Knowledge & Expertise:

  • Foundational knowledge of graphic design principles such as typography and layout;
  • Proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, and Toon Boom;
  • Experience with motion graphics and animation using various After Effects plugins;
  • Competent in Microsoft Office and G Suite, with prior experience in communication tools;
  • Understanding of social media management applications.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with additional software such as Cinema 4D, Blender, or Premiere Pro.

Educational Background:

  • A degree or relevant experience in video production and editing.

Relevant Experience:

  • Previous roles in a similar capacity;
  • Experience in target-driven environments;
  • A portfolio showcasing visual communication projects;
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively to advance projects.
