The Blockchain & Climate Institute is seeking a passionate and imaginative VOLUNTEER to contribute to the climate action sector through compelling video production. The Video Producer will play a vital role in executing the BCI Communications Strategy by crafting engaging video content. The ideal candidate should possess a keen eye for visual storytelling and a genuine enthusiasm for creating captivating media.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution of the BCI Communications strategy;
- Enhance the visibility of BCI among key stakeholders, both within and outside the climate change discourse;
- Develop video narratives based on storytelling needs for various communication initiatives, including public relations, social media, websites, and newsletters;
- Create motion graphics and animated videos in collaboration with other team members;
- Produce illustrative sketches for review and approval;
- Generate engaging audio-visual content (e.g., video explainers, interview features) tailored for diverse media platforms;
- Support BCI’s participation in both internal and external events, including significant industry gatherings.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- High level of creativity and strong storytelling skills;
- Thorough understanding of various communication channels (e.g., media outlets, social media);
- Ability to adapt and demonstrate flexibility;
- Meticulous attention to detail;
- Exceptional organizational skills and capability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Knowledge & Expertise:
- Solid foundation in graphic design principles such as typography, layout, and grids;
- Proficient in industry-standard design software, including Adobe After Effects, Animate, Photoshop, and Toon Boom;
- Experience with Motion Graphics and Animations, utilizing various After Effects plugins;
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and G Suite, along with experience using communication platforms;
- Understanding of social media management tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Cinema 4D, Blender, Houdini, and Premiere Pro.
Educational Background:
- A relevant degree or equivalent experience in video production and editing.
Relevant Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role within an organization;
- Experience in a target-oriented environment;
- A portfolio showcasing strong visual communication work;
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively to advance projects using initiative.
