Position Overview

Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust is seeking a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist to join our dynamic CAMHS team. This role primarily involves working at our inpatient unit while also providing support to the CAMHS Crisis Team during periods of lower occupancy.

The ideal candidate will possess significant experience and qualifications in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, holding current UKCP registration. A background in clinical leadership and expertise in managing complex mental health issues in both inpatient and community settings is essential.

Our multidisciplinary team includes professionals from various fields such as Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. Collaboration with CAMHS Specialist Teams and Adult services is a key aspect of our work, ensuring comprehensive care for young individuals and their families.

Main Responsibilities

The responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Conducting detailed and specialized psychological and systemic assessments of children and their families, involving direct interaction.
  • Implementing a variety of systemic interventions tailored to individuals and their families.
  • Designing and delivering advanced therapeutic interventions.
  • Providing an agreed package of care to young people and their families.
  • Offering highly specialized one-on-one clinical consultations to fellow clinicians, aiding in the formulation, diagnosis, and intervention strategies.
  • Contributing to continuing professional development (CPD) initiatives and supporting the learning of multidisciplinary team members at all expertise levels.
  • Engaging in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conferences, and reviews.
  • Participating in special clinical interests or groups as appropriate.
  • Conducting risk assessments and management for individual young people, advising other professionals on systemic risk considerations.
  • Exercising independent professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of young individuals and their families.
