About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Community Integrated Neurology and Stroke Service (CINSS) team.

The successful candidate will work closely with a specialist team comprising of Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Dietetics, Neuropsychology, Neurology Rehabilitation Consultant and Generic Rehabilitation Technical Instructors, providing patient-centred, goal-directed specialist neurological rehabilitation in community and outpatient settings.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide effective management and clinical leadership of the relevant Occupational Therapy team within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
  • Act as the expert for the multi-agency team and for patients within the relevant field, providing specialist knowledge and experience.
  • Hold a caseload and support other members of the team with caseload management.
  • Line manage the team and provide high-level communication skills and negotiation for delivering complex clinical information.
  • Participate and lead in the development of quality improvements for service delivery.
  • Have in-depth experience and formal advanced post-registration study related to Occupational Therapy.
  • Deputise for the Clinical/Service Lead as appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the Trust's values in everything you do in the work environment.
  • Be responsible in the use and expenditure of the Trust's resources.
  • Adhere to the Royal College of Occupational Therapist Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct and HCPC standards of proficiency.
  • Make autonomous clinical decisions and participate in the development of OT quality standards, local clinical guidelines and trust policies and procedures.
