We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Therapist to join our CAMHS Specialist team at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust. As a Family Therapist, you will play a crucial role in providing specialist psychological and systemic assessments, interventions, and consultations to children and families.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake detailed and highly specialist psychological and systemic assessments of children and families, involving face-to-face contact with young people and families.
- Implement a range of systemic interventions for individuals and their families, creating and delivering highly developed therapeutic interventions.
- Deliver an agreed package of care to young people and families, providing highly specialist one-to-one clinical consultations to other clinical staff.
- Contribute to the requirements of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) provision and support the learning of multi-disciplinary staff at all levels of expertise.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conferences, and reviews.
- Undertake risk assessment and risk management for individual young people, providing advice to other professionals on the systemic aspects of risk assessment and risk management.
- Exercise autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of young people and their families.
- Qualification in a relevant mental health or social welfare profession, with demonstrable practice over a minimum of 3 years within that profession.
- Masters-level qualification in Family and Systemic Psychotherapy, accredited with the UKCP.
- Continued registration with a relevant organization in relation to the primary professional qualification.
- UKCP registration, maintained through meeting relevant AFT CPD requirements.
- Minimum three years' practice in a relevant first profession.
- Assessed experience of working as a qualified systemic family psychotherapist for a minimum of 2 years or substantial previous relevant clinical experience.
- Experience of specialist systemic assessment, formulation, and intervention with clients.
- Experience of working with a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems, verbal abuse, and the threat of physical abuse with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course.
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team.
- Experience of working with a range of childhood and adult disorders at the acute and chronic stage.
- Experience of risk assessment and risk management.
