Position Overview

Due to ongoing recruitment efforts within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust, we are seeking to appoint a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. This role primarily involves working at the CAMHS The Beacon Inpatient Unit, with occasional support for the CAMHS Crisis Team when inpatient bed occupancy allows.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience and qualifications as a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, holding current UKCP registration. Experience in clinical leadership and managing complex mental health challenges in both inpatient and community settings is essential.

Our multidisciplinary team includes professionals from various fields such as Psychiatry, Psychology, Dietetics, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. We collaborate closely with CAMHS Specialist Teams, Inpatient and Adult services, and maintain connections with the broader multidisciplinary team within the community. Our mission is to provide early specialist assessment and intervention utilizing evidence-based methodologies for young individuals up to 18 years and their families.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities associated with this role include:

  • Conducting comprehensive and specialized psychological and systemic evaluations of children and families, involving direct interaction with young individuals and their families.
  • Implementing a variety of systemic interventions tailored for individuals and their families.
  • Designing, delivering, and maintaining advanced therapeutic interventions.
  • Providing an agreed package of care to young people and their families.
  • Offering highly specialized one-on-one clinical consultations to other clinical personnel, contributing to formulation, diagnosis, and intervention strategies.
  • Supporting continuing professional development (CPD) and fostering the learning of multidisciplinary team members at all expertise levels.
  • Engaging in multidisciplinary meetings, child protection case conferences, and reviews.
  • Participating in special clinical interests, clinical groups, or addressing specific clinical challenges as appropriate.
  • Conducting risk assessments and management for individual young people, advising other professionals on systemic aspects of risk assessment and management.
  • Exercising autonomous professional responsibility for the assessment and treatment of young individuals and their families.
