About the Role

A remarkable opportunity exists for a motivated and skilled Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to become part of a distinguished private eye clinic located in Welwyn Garden City. This role offers a chance for an experienced Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner to contribute to our expanding organization. This position is ideal for a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner eager to guide a team in supporting patients undergoing procedures such as cataract surgery in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing effective team scheduling to align with clinic and theatre requirements.
  • Conducting regular team meetings, facilitating training and mentorship, and ensuring ongoing professional development (CPD) for yourself and your team.
  • Performing various audits, including medication management, and addressing any incidents or complaints.
  • Maintaining adequate stock levels and ensuring the availability of necessary medical supplies.
  • Upholding the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality, clinical compliance, and hygiene.
  • Monitoring patients' conditions during surgical procedures and reviewing patient records for accuracy.

Candidate Profile

  • Must be NMC / HCPC registered with no restrictions or conditions on your pin.
  • Essential experience in a hospital eye service or private eye clinic.
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Lead Theatre Nurse / Practitioner in a comparable environment.
  • Experience in Ophthalmology / Optometry is required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical setting.
  • Strong knowledge of clinical practices and current developments in Optometry.
