Position Overview

New Medical Systems Ltd is seeking a dedicated Senior Surgical Coordinator to oversee our theatre operations. This role involves a commitment of 40 hours per week across five days, including weekend coverage on a rotational basis.

As a Senior Surgical Coordinator, you will manage the daily operations of our surgical teams and theatre services.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for the efficient scheduling of team members to align with the demands of our clinics and surgical lists. Our facility typically accommodates 18-22 patients daily in our high-volume surgical services, so you will excel in a dynamic and fast-paced setting.

You will be an inspiring and capable leader, experienced in guiding individuals with diverse skill sets and clinical expertise. Regular team meetings will be held to facilitate training and mentorship, ensuring that both you and your team engage in continuous professional development.

Your operational duties will be varied, ensuring that each day presents new challenges. Responsibilities may include conducting audits, managing inventory and supply needs, addressing any incidents or concerns, and providing clinical oversight and support.

As a proficient multi-tasker, you will thrive when working independently. Your commitment to maintaining the highest standards of patient safety, confidentiality, clinical compliance, and hygiene will be paramount in all aspects of your work.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with NMC or Operating Department Practitioner with HCPC credentials

Required Experience

  • Extensive recent experience in ophthalmic surgical procedures
  • Prior experience in a managerial or lead role within an ophthalmic theatre setting

Necessary Skills and Knowledge

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and adept at using computerized systems for data management
