As part of the Group Communications team, you will oversee the in-house events unit, managing all aspects of event execution (both in-person and virtual). This includes planning, logistics, content development, budget oversight, on-site management, and post-event analysis for various departments within the Tesco organization.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and cultivate a high-performing events team, empowering them to excel. Directly manage two event coordinators. Accurately forecast and manage budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness across the events calendar. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders and agencies to produce exceptional events that align with brand standards. Simultaneously manage multiple events, taking full ownership while receiving support from your team. Prepare event proposals for senior management, along with all necessary logistical documentation for pre-event and on-site execution. Engage professionally with senior stakeholders and executive members. Organize and facilitate large-scale planning meetings to ensure event timelines are met. Brief and coordinate both internal teams and external agencies to ensure successful event delivery. Act as the primary contact for all event stakeholders leading up to and during events. Collaborate with various teams across the organization to enhance the visibility of events support and clarify the scope of the events team. Gather and analyze feedback from event evaluations as necessary. Stay informed about industry trends, venues, and creative event elements, which may involve site visits and meetings with external suppliers. Maintain effective communication with all event stakeholders and the broader communications department. Negotiate contracts with audio-visual and event management providers to maximize value. Be prepared for some national travel, including occasional overnight stays. Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and secure necessary certificates and licenses for events.Qualifications
Proven experience in events management. Strong senior stakeholder management skills. Extensive experience in delivering events across various formats (in-person, virtual, and hybrid). Experience with virtual events is preferred.Benefits
