Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Research Assistant to become part of the British Heart Foundation Laboratory of Cardiovascular Medicine, led by Dr. Meritxell Nus, within the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge. This team is dedicated to exploring the immune metabolic mechanisms that influence atherosclerosis.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a degree in biology or a related field. Holding a Home Office Personal Licence with certification for Module 4 is advantageous, along with demonstrated experience in utilizing in vivo models for cardiovascular and immune disease research. Previous involvement in metabolic studies, pathology, and/or flow cytometry is preferred but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing experimental protocols related to metabolic studies, pathology, and flow cytometry.
  • Conducting live animal studies focused on atherosclerosis and immunological responses.
  • Maintaining laboratory stocks and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
