Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Research Assistant to become part of the British Heart Foundation Laboratory of Cardiovascular Medicine, led by Dr. Meritxell Nus, within the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge. This team is engaged in studying the immune metabolic mechanisms that influence atherosclerosis.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a degree in biology or a related field. Holding a Home Office Personal Licence with certification for Module 4 is advantageous, along with proven experience in utilizing in vivo models pertinent to cardiovascular and immune disorders. While prior involvement in metabolic research, pathology, and/or flow cytometry is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing and executing experimental studies related to metabolic processes, pathology, and flow cytometry.
  • Conducting live animal studies focused on atherosclerosis and immunological responses.
  • Maintaining laboratory stocks and ensuring accurate record-keeping.
