IT Support Specialist

Role Summary:
As an IT Support Specialist, you will be integral to our support framework, offering technical knowledge and troubleshooting assistance to address escalated concerns from our first line support team and directly from clients.
This role provides the chance to engage with advanced technologies in a dynamic setting, working closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a point of escalation for intricate technical challenges, ensuring prompt resolution while maintaining communication with clients and internal teams.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot advanced issues related to network, server, and desktop hardware and software.
- Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement lasting solutions.
- Configure and oversee IT systems, including servers, routers, switches, and firewalls.
- Manage and support cloud-based services such as Office 365, Azure, and AWS.
- Collaborate with external vendors and suppliers to resolve issues and implement effective solutions.
- Document technical solutions and maintain knowledge base articles for internal and client reference.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to first line support technicians.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in a similar IT Support Specialist role within a managed service provider or IT service environment.
- Strong skills in diagnosing and resolving technical issues related to Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, and desktop operating systems (Windows and macOS).
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and principles of network security.
- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Capacity to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to non-technical users.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), or equivalent certifications are advantageous.
