We are looking for a Regional Operations Supervisor to enhance our esteemed Tarmac Readymix (RMX) team. This role will be based at our Silvertown RMX facility, serving various RMX plants in the London area. Our plants are conveniently located near major roadways, making them accessible from numerous locations.

Key Responsibilities

The Regional Operations Supervisor will oversee and be responsible for the RMX operations across our facilities. As the lead supervisor, you will prioritize safety and operational excellence while managing costs, leading teams, and enhancing performance. Compliance with company policies and legislative requirements will be critical to your role.

Primary Duties Include:

  • Leading and supervising RMX operational teams, including conducting safety briefings
  • Managing daily production operations, including cost control and inventory management
  • Ensuring efficient concrete production while adhering to quality standards
  • Driving performance improvements through key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Coaching and managing the performance of direct reports
  • Resolving operational queries promptly
  • Maintaining a safe work environment for yourself and your colleagues
  • Upholding high standards of site cleanliness
  • Batching concrete to fulfill customer requirements while meeting internal quality benchmarks
  • Managing budgets related to plant operations, including both fixed and variable costs

Applicants must possess a FULL UK manual driving license with no more than six penalty points.

Flexibility is Essential: This role requires adaptability to meet production demands, including shift work and potential overtime.

To excel as a Regional Operations Supervisor, you should have:

Essential Experience:

  • Supervisory experience in Readymix (RMX) plant operations
  • Experience in an Asphalt or Aggregates environment is advantageous
  • Knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe Work Systems
  • Understanding of production processes
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety and Environmental policies

Desirable Qualifications:

  • IOSH Managing Safely certification
  • NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations

Skills:

  • Ability to identify and implement site and process improvements
  • Effective communication skills to enhance customer service and sales
  • Capability to multitask and manage change effectively
