We are currently seeking a skilled Contracts Supervisor - Highways to enhance our exceptional team. This position is based in a region that is easily accessible from various surrounding areas.

Key Responsibilities

As the Contracts Supervisor - Highways , you will oversee the effective execution of Surfacing projects on behalf of Tarmac, ensuring that client objectives and targets are met for the contracts we manage. Your role will be pivotal in achieving successful project outcomes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic planning, scheduling, and execution of work programs
  • Meeting Company and Contractual KPIs while striving for continuous improvement
  • Diligently managing change controls on-site
  • Promoting a culture of zero accidents and environmental incidents
  • Leading site teams to foster career growth and skill development
  • Collaborating with Health, Safety & Wellbeing advisors to ensure best practices
  • Upholding Health and Safety standards across all operations
  • Ensuring compliance with training qualifications and competence monitoring for team members
  • Adhering to CDM regulations as the principal contractor
  • Implementing environmental best practices throughout the contract
  • Conducting Health & Safety briefings for all teams
  • Willingness to travel across the designated work regions

A vehicle will be provided for this role, and a valid UK full manual driving license with no more than 6 points is required.

Ideal Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate for the Contracts Supervisor - Highways position will possess the following qualifications:

Essential Skills:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the Surfacing sector, with knowledge of on-site Health and Safety protocols
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively, providing effective leadership
  • Strong communication skills to engage with stakeholders at various levels
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Certification in Site Safety Management
  • Supervisory experience in Surfacing Maintenance, specifically in surfacing and construction
  • Valid CSCS card
  • SMSTS certification
  • Flexibility regarding location and shift patterns to meet business needs

Desirable Skills:

  • First Aid and Mental Health First Aid training
  • IOSH training
